Insulation Service
Wild animal pests that have gotten into your attic can do a great deal of damage to your attic insulation in a relatively short period of time. Undamaged insulation should look loose and fluffy, similar to freshly fallen snow. When walked on by wild animal pests, such as raccoons and squirrels, it gets compressed, which lowers its resistance to heat flow, or R value. A higher R value means that heat will be slower to penetrate the insulation, either escaping during the cold winter months, or getting in during the summer. This slower heat exchange makes for a lower gas and hydro bill - effectively, the thicker your insulation is, the more money you will save on your heating and cooling expenses.
In addition to cost concerns, wild animal pests living in your attic for a significant period of time may have left deposits of urine and feces in your insulation. If this is the case, you will need to have your insulation removed to prevent the potential spread of disease through the animal waste. We can refer you to a reputable environmental cleanup company to have the soiled insulation removed.
Once the removal job is done, The Animal Movers will be happy to come in and blow more insulation into your attic.
